Wisconsin Rules of the Road are the practices that road and highway users follow. These govern cars, trucks, bicycles, pedestrians and other vehicles. These traffic rules are ultimately defined by Wisconsin law and help to ensure driver and passenger safety.

Please note that Wisconsin has enacted the following laws regarding distracted driving including the use of cell phones and texting while driving.

– Ban on all cell phone use (handheld and hands-free) for novice drivers (Primary law) effective 11/1/12

– Ban on texting for all drivers (Primary law)
